Hello CES Families:

Here we are - we're at the end of January and, on Tuesday, January 31, we will celebrate the 100th Day of School.  Our students have grown so much and we are happy to share the 100th day with each of them!

Also, we have a BUNCH of items in our lost and found!  If your child is missing his or her clothing items, please have them the lost and found outside of the library.

A Message From Mrs. Manion:  Several of our students and families have experienced some form of loss over the last few years.  If you have a student that is grieving in any way, Hosparus has some wonderful workshops that could be beneficial to your students.  Please check out both the bi-weekly grief group for kids (8 and up) or the upcoming grief art workshops.  These workshops are usually very well done and would be a great way for students to get support with grief/loss.

FOR FIFTH GRADE PARENTS:

For your FYI - if we were to have a NTI Day, here are district expectations:  CLICK HERE.

As always, we hope that you have a great weekend and don't forget to Sharpen your Saw!

Hello CES Families:

This was a great week for all our students and staff!  The kids worked through new expectations in our cafeteria and are doing a great job!  We are constantly re-evaluating our processes, and hopefully this will help make the lunchroom more productive.

We are happy to share with you a partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, BCPS and the BC Public Library.  The Imagination Library provides free books to children ages 0 - 5.  The next sign up is coming up on Thursday, January 26 from 5:00 - 7:00p at the MW Library.
Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed directly to your home. The first book is always the children's classic "The Little Engine That Could". The child must be a resident of Bullitt County and you must submit an official registration form, completely filled out by the authorized adult. Books are received eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of the covered area.

Also, Friday, January 27 is our monthly Sharpen the Saw celebration with our students. Students work hard to follow expectations and earn Dojo points to be able to select an activity to participate in with various teachers and students. Please encourage your child to continue to follow expectations and do what is right.

Last, but not least, we are coming up on the end of January and we encourage you to continue to monitor the weather. We hope to continue to be in person, but there is always the possibility of a weather related NTI day. Again, those days will be announced via social media and Infinite Campus Messenger, as well as the local news channels.

As always, we hope that you have a great weekend and don't forget to Sharpen your Saw!

Ms. Wright

Hello CES Families:

We have had another great week here at CES!  Today, students spent time in an assembly by Leigh Ann Florence with her weiner dog, Woody!  Leigh Ann is a Kentucky author, who has written many books telling the tales of her beloved Woody.  The kids and teachers enjoyed the time and learned so much about both the dogs and being a writer.

As you know, Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. day and the school will be closed.  School will resume on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 with doors opening at 8:30a and school beginning immediately at 9:00a.

The Bullitt Co. Health Department came to share a new health program with our students. Students were given a weekly tracker to fill out. They get a prize when they return it to school.
If your students needs a new form, please have them see Mrs. Jones.

As always, we hope that you have a great weekend and don't forget to Sharpen your Saw!

Hello CES Families:

We were certainly glad to welcome our students back this week and look forward to this semester of learning!

On Friday, students began bringing home their school issued chromebook.  We do not anticipate long periods of NTI, but want to be prepared if we have weather related NTI days in the upcoming winter months.  CLICK HERE for detailed information about chromebooks, including expectations for those devices.

This upcoming week, we are excited to share Leigh Ann Florence, a local author, with our students.  The WOODY dog series has been shared for many years and he has gone on quite an extensive adventure in his life.  We look forward to our students learning from Ms. Florence and her wonderful Woody the Weiner Dog.

Just a brief reminder, please make sure you have School Dismissal Manager updated for any student dismissal changes.  If you have questions or need help, feel free to call the office.

We look forward to another wonderful week and, as always, we hope that you have a great weekend and don't forget to Sharpen your Saw!
