CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL?  This year has been quite difficult, but it has also flown by quickly.  As we look ahead, please remember, we do not have school on Tuesday, May 17 for Election Day.  We have lots of activities next week, so let's make sure your child is here on time and ready to learn.

Every year, we must complete a Title I Survey:  2021-2022 Title 1 Program Family Survey
This survey helps us evaluate the services we provide to students.  Every year, we send home the Title I Compact, have a slideshow explaining what Title I is and posts the Parent Involvement Policy and compact for feedback on a board in the lobby during Open House.  Please complete the survey prior to June 17.

Monday, May 16 - we will be sending out our Leader in Me Virtual Leadership Day Link.  We have LOTS of awesome work to share with you based on our students' understanding of Leadership and the 7 Habits of Happy Kids!  Also, that evening at 6:00p, we have Kindergarten recognition.  On Wednesday, also at 6:00p, we will have our 5th grade recognition.  Again - we have lots going on next week!  We're excited to share those times with you, in celebration of our student's accomplishments.

As always, take some time to sharpen your saw and have a great weekend!

Ms. Wright

We have had an another busy week here at CES!  Students in grades 3 - 5 have been participating in state testing and today, we were able to bring back a long standing tradition, the Kindergarten Derby!  Although we meet weekly in our morning meetings, this gathering of all of our students and staff felt so good.  Traditions are important and it was simply an amazing time to be together and watch our young students race.  We look forward to bringing back many of our traditions in the near future.

Please remember - school is not in session on Friday, May 6.  School will resume on Monday, May 9, 2022 with doors opening at 8:30a and school starting promptly at 9:00a.  Happy Derby Weekend!

FYI:  The East Running Club (cross country) is now accepting registration for the 2022 season.  Parents of runners who are new to the program should contact Kenny Hughes at kenneth.hughes@bullitt.kyschools.us for more info.  Returning runners can find info on the SportsYou app.  Official practices begin on July 16 for grades 2-8

As always, take some time to sharpen your saw and have a great weekend!

Ms. Wright

Old Info -

The end of the year FIELD DAY will be May 20 - if you wish to be on campus to volunteer, you will need to complete a background check.  Ms. Pam, our volunteer coordinator, works 10 - 1 Monday - Friday.  Background checks are $10.

Speaking of volunteering, have you thought about being part of our PTA or SBDM?   Both groups are looking for officers and members to help plan for the upcoming year.
