Important Info:

  • Parents:  Please be aware of the stop sign at the end of Erin Circle and Fairway Drive.  We have several students who walk and we have noticed many people not stopping at the sign near the school.  In order to keep our kids safe - elementary, middle and high, please watch for our kids.  Also, I have been noticing many students waiting for the bus with their heads down looking at a device and, often, with headphones on.  Please encourage your child to be aware of their surroundings - again, we want to keep our kids safe.  We have been in contact with both Mayor Armstrong and Chief Pitcock - they have assured me that there will be increased police presence patrolling the area.  Both the Mayor and Chief are asking that you watch your speed in school zones, as this is also a safety issue.
  • MW Spring Festival 5k, May 9.  This race benefits the East Area Cross Country (this is the elementary and middle school cross country team I) and the Bullitt East Chapter of the FBLA.  Here's the link.
  • MATH NIGHT is coming up on Tuesday!  If you haven't signed up, please do so!  We have lots of great activities planned to get kids engaged in math.
  • BEST OF LUCK to our ACADEMIC TEAM as they compete in Regional Competition on Saturday at Nichols Elementary!
  • CONGRATULATIONS to our ARCHERY team that qualified to compete at the state competition!

  • Looking Ahead:  For the 2020-21 school year, we will be using an online registration process through Infinite Campus.  Every child will be registered this way and you will need to provide proof of residency during the registration process.  If you do not have access to Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please let us know and get with Ms. Della in the office to help get access.
  • Attention 5th Grade Parents:
    • Greetings Parents & Caregivers,
    • The Discovery School at Hebron Middle is a unique learning opportunity for middle school students in Bullitt County. We are an advanced and accelerated STEM-based program rooted in Project-Based Learning. During a student’s three years in Discovery School, he or she completes four years of academic curriculum, entering high school having earned multiple credit hours. As you might imagine, this program is not suitable for every student. We are looking for exceptional, self-driven fifth graders to add to our program in the fall.
    • For those who have been in the district for years, the admissions process has changed this year.  In the past, students were invited to apply for admission based on his or her MAP scores. This year we are opening up the admissions process to all students. If you choose to apply, the process will occur in several steps. First, interested students will be required to take the ITBS Science test. Based on the results of that screener, students will be selected to proceed to the next step.  These students will be required to complete two on-demand questions, and collect two letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors in their school. The answers and letters will be evaluated by the current Discovery School teachers in a blind manner, and 50 students will be selected to interview with the Principal of Hebron Middle School, the District Science Instructional Coach, and the Director of Secondary Schools. 36 students will be selected for admission to the program, with several students being designated for the wait list.
    • We would love to invite you to our Discovery School Open House nights Thursday, February 13th, and Tuesday, February 18th, at Hebron Middle School, starting at 6:30 PM. This event will give you and your student an opportunity to meet the Discovery School teachers, students, and parents in the program.
