  • Don't forget - School is CLOSED on Monday for Labor Day and Tuesday for a Bullitt Day/Teacher Planning Day. School resumes bright and early on Wednesday with doors opening at 8:30 am and school beginning immediately at 9:00a. Please remember, if your child needs to eat breakfast, they will need to be at school prior to 8:50 in order to have ample time to get through the line and eat.
  • MAP IS COMING! The fall MAP assessment window begins September 10. More information will come home from your child's teacher for exact days. This assessment is incredibly important as it helps us build our instructional program for the rest of the year. Please help us by making sure your child is here to show us what he/she knows!
  • School Dismissal Manager is our PRIMARY program for knowing your child's transportation. If you have NOT completed the registration process or need assistance, please give us a call to ensure that we know how your child gets home, each and every day.
  • I'll be sharing the book Amazing Grace on Tuesday evening at 8:00p on our Facebook page. This book is a great tool for learning about Habit 1: Be Proactive! I hope to share books throughout the year focusing on the 7 Habits. Join us on FB!
  • On Monday, September 10, there will be a tax rate hearing at 6:30 p.m during the Bullitt County Public Schools Board of Education Meeting.
  • PTA Krispy Kreme Sales are coming up!  We will be selling Krispy Kreme certificates starting September 11.
  • Also, the PTA Craft Fair is September 22!  Join us for some fun fall and early Christmas shopping!
  • Did you know you can support the PTA all year long? If you shop at Smile.Amazon.com with your normal Amazon Login, the CES PTA can receive a donation?  Add Crossroads Elementary PTA under "Supporting" to help.  Also, if you shop at Kroger, add Crossroads Elementary PTA (GV550) to your Kroger card through Kroger Community Rewards.
  • Each year, we are required by Kentucky Statute to be under capacity in our classrooms by September 15. This year, we have been blessed to add a teacher to our staff. Please welcome Mrs. Jennifer Theil to Crossroads. She will be joining our Kindergarten team. Next week, students will be notified about any movement that will need to take place in order for us to reach capacity. Thanks and please help me welcome Mrs. Theil to our school!

  • Notes from Mrs. Hinton in the Lunchroom: Parents, please put your child's first and last name on their lunch boxes. Several have been left and will end up unclaimed because of no name.

If your child brings their lunch and needs to purchase milk, you must send money in with them. Some of you have blocked your child's account so they cannot buy extras, this includes milk. They will need to bring in 50 cents for that or use the water fountain.

If your child owes the charge limit on their account, they cannot bring money from home to buy snacks or any kind of extras from the cafeteria.
They will also be turned away from breakfast.

Thank you for your attention to these matters.
  • Girls on the Run at Crossroads Elementary We are excited to announce that Crossroads will have a Girls on the Run team in the fall!  Girls on the Run is a ten-week after school program that combines physical activity with inspiring, fun lessons that teach girls how to handle the difficult social pressures of adolescence. Girls on the Run provides 3rd - 5th grade girls with the tools they need to become strong, confident, healthy young women who make good choices. The season starts on Sept. 4 and ends with the Girls on the Run Fall 5K on Nov. 17 at Waterfront Park downtown Louisville, where girls from all over the Kentuckiana area celebrate their accomplishments with their families, friends, and community!  Please click here to view a video overview of Girls on the Run. Practices will be held on Tues & Thurs 3:45 - 5:15PM at school. The cost of the program, including the Fall 5K, two t-shirts, a water bottle, snacks, a lifetime of important lessons and much more is $160.  The registration fee can be paid in 3 monthly installments. To register your girl for the Fall 2018 season, please click here .  Team size is limited so don’t delay in registering. Registration closes August 30, 2018.  Financial need scholarships may be available to those who qualify. Please e-mail gotrlouky@gmail.com to find out more. To find out more about Girls on the Run Louisville, visit the website at www.gotrlouisville.org.
  • Please LOG ON to School Dismissal Manager and make sure you have set yourself up. We will be using this as our primary dismissal/transportation change tool. If you have NOT received any emails from CES, please contact the office as we will not be utilizing notes in the agenda any longer. You must change transportation on SDM.
  • Also, please make sure you do not check into SDM Fastlane early. If you do, then your child will be looking for you. It is imperative that you wait until the stop sign in front of the building to check in so we have all the cars in order. When leaving the car rider line, please follow all normal safety measures and traffic laws. We have had several neighbors provide feedback that our car rider line has been driving through the stop sign at the end of our driveway and speeding through the subdivision. We want to keep everyone safe, as we do have walkers and bike riders who will be moving through those areas, as well. Thanks for your continued support of a safe environment.
  • 21st Century starts on Wednesday. Please make sure you have the correct dismissal programmed into school dismissal manager.
  • Please remember to return your Title I Parent Compact.

Welcome to our new 2nd grade teacher...

Seek first to Understand, Then Be Understood:

  • THANK YOU to all the parents, guardians and those who care for students for a very smooth start of school.  We appreciate your time and patience.
  • At the beginning of the week, you will receive an email from School Dismissal Manager, our new software that will help with transportation here at school.  Please read through that email and do what it asks you to do, so we can get it up and running.
  • Thank you for allowing students to walk to class on their own.  Most of our students have had an easy transition and we're sure they will continue to from now on!
  • Some students will start beginning of the year assessments this week.  Please make sure your child is here, on time, and ready to show what they know and to learn.
  • We are in the midst of a transition in the office, so it may take us a little while to adjust.  Please be patient as we make this transition.

Hello Trailblazer Families,

Welcome to CES!  We are excited to see all of our Trailblazer Leader's return and welcome to our new faces that will be joining us this year!

Just some quick housekeeping notes for Wednesday, August 8, 2018:
  • You are welcome to join us tomorrow, but remember you will need to bring your ID to enter the building.
  • Our doors open at 8:30a.
  • We encourage you to say your goodbyes quickly, our instructional day starts immediately at 9:00a.
  • Thank you for allowing us to share this amazing time with your children as they learn and grow, but on Day 2, we ask that you allow your child to walk to his/her classroom on their own.  We will have lots of people stationed around the building to help them.
Please make sure to return all required paperwork that will come home with your student on the first day of school. It is very important that we get this back as quickly as possible, so we can move forward with our various activities.

Have a great night!
