ILEAD: FALL BREAK

  • HAPPY FALL BREAK!  School is closed for Fall Break on October 1 - 5 and a Bullitt Day/Teacher Planning on October 8.  School resumes immediately at 9:00a with doors opening at 8:30a on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  
  • Just a heads up - we will have our annual Halloween Celebrations on October 31 and students will be able to wear school appropriate costumes this year.  Please, no masks, make-up or in appropriate language.  Also, please refrain from any scary costumes that may frighten younger children.  
  • Another BIG event you may want to put on your calendars is our annual Book Fair and Grandparent Week.  As always, we do this in November.  This year, we will be scheduled during the week of November 12 - 16.

  • The PTA Craft Fair is SATURDAY!  Join us for some fun, food and shopping!  The fair is open from 9:00a - 2:00p

  • PICTURE DAY IS COMING!  Tuesday, September 25 is picture day - please make sure you child does not wear green due to green screen technology that the photographers utilize.  
  • Fall break is October 1 - 8.  Please remember, we do have school all week this week.  Our instructional day begins immediately at 9:00a with doors opening at 8:30a and ends at 3:40p.  If a child is checked out, it does count as a tardy.
  • Chess Team begins Tuesday, September 25, 2018

  • Way to go Trailblazers!  We had 97.69% attendance for Month 1!  Let's keep up the hard work and make sure this is our best year of attendance!
  • Speaking of ATTENDANCE!  Thursday, September 20 is HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY!  Classes can receive attendance incentives for 100% in his/her classroom.

  • MAP BEGINS THIS WEEK!  Please check your child's agenda for specific dates.
  • On Monday, September 10, there will be a tax rate hearing at 6:30 p.m during the Bullitt County Public Schools Board of Education Meeting.
  • PTA Krispy Kreme Sales start September 11.  
  • The PTA Craft Fair is September 22!  Join us for some fun fall and early Christmas shopping!
  • Grades 4 - 5: Be on the look out for the Work Ethic Certification information coming home from BCPS. The elementary standards include the following:
    • Attendance: no more than 2 unexcused absences
    • Behavior: zero office referrals listed in Infinite Campus
    • Grades: students must have a score of basic or above when using standards based report cards
    • Give Back and Get Involved: Participate in any TWO:
      • School/Community Team/Individual Sport
      • School/Community Extra-curricular Activity
      • Complete 10 hours of Community Service
    • Workplace Ethics Instruction Program
      • Essential Skills taught in this program include:
        • Adaptability, diligence, initiative, knowledge, reliability, remaining drug free and working well with others (many of these skills will be taught in our morning meeting, through the Leader in Me skills and through social skills instruction that occurs daily)
  • Grades 3 - 5: Student Lighthouse Team Applications are to to Mrs. Skeens by Friday, September 14 at 9:00am. Late applications will not be accepted.
